Program objective
The objective of our work-study internship is for high school students to receive hands-on education about the ag equipment and diesel technology industries. This program also allows students to familiarize themselves it the Butler facility and day to day operations of a Butler Service Department. We provide our interns with an experience in the industry before they decide to make an investment into a diesel technology education and career. A service department work-study internship at Butler gives students exposure to many departments within our company, while they get on-the-job training alongside a full-time service technician mentor.

The experience
At Butler, work-study students will experience working alongside and learning from some of the best and brightest technicians in the industry. They will be exposed to satellite-based navigation systems, sophisticated computer-based diagnostics, electronically-controlled engines, state-of-the-art hydraulics, and more. Our intentions are to develop future diesel service technicians who possess critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, who want to grow a career in the Butler service department. Our work-study interns are each assigned a mentor who is knowledgeable in the company and an expert in the field of diesel technology.

What is the Butler work-study experience like?
The Butler work-study internship is for high school students to get a hands-on education in the ag equipment and diesel technology industries, working side-by-side with the best in the industry, giving them a jump start before they decide to make an investment into a diesel technology education and career.
Students get exposure to many departments at Butler, receive on-the-job training alongside a full-time service technician mentor, be exposed to the day-to-day life of a professional career and develop critical thinking, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills to help them prepare for the future.
