Shock and awe were the two emotions Chayce Lewis remarked after receiving the email that he had been nominated for AGCO Technician of the Year.
This March, Chayce will have the opportunity to represent Butler Machinery at the first-ever AGCO Technician of the Year contest in Hesston, Kansas. During the competition, he and five (5) other semi-finalists from North America will complete tasks to compare skill levels as a service technician on the Fendt product line.
Chayce Lewis has been with Butler Machinery for nine (9) years. In that time, Chayce’s work has directly impacted customers and coworkers alike. “He takes the time to share his knowledge with other associates and is even involved in mentoring our new incoming technicians,” said Eric Christensen, service manager and Chayce’s supervisor.
Chayce credits part of his exemplary product knowledge and skill to Butler Machinery’s top-notch training facility in Fargo, North Dakota. “I firmly believe that the hands-on training I’ve received over the years has helped mold me into the technician I am today, becoming more efficient at troubleshooting and repairing machine systems” stated Chayce.
Being a great technician doesn’t stop at the shop; it continues out in the field with customers, building trust and relationships. “Our customers rely on quality service when they are experiencing downtime and knowing that they have faith in me and the whole team at Butler to help them in their time of need is very rewarding to me” commented Chayce.
Since starting at Butler, Chayce has seen a wide range of equipment come through the shop, but nothing has been as promising as the Fendt product line. The Fendt line offers industry-leading technology and reliability that helps keep farmers in the field, getting the job done faster and more efficiently with less downtime. The Fendt Gold Star maintenance program also ensures that a technician sees a machine at least every 500 hours, aiming to reduce downtime and increase customer productivity.
Considering Chayce’s love for what he does and the customers he serves, we’re proud to already have a winner here at Butler, even before the competition begins.
